Hooverphonic releases new album         'Hidden Stories'

Before going to Rotterdam for this year's Eurovision Song Contest happening in less than two weeks, Hooveprhonic released their new album 'Hidden Stories'. It's the first new album of the group since Geike Arnaert joinced the grou again as the lead singer. The album consists of ten songs including their Eurovision song "The Wrong Place". The whole album was written in only a few months and is perfectly connected to their Eurosong single.

At his been twelve years that Geike announced that she was leaving the group. She went solo and made some music these past few years until last year when it was announced that Geike was joining the group again as the lead singer. Luka out, Geike in. The first song they recorded with Geike back is their big hit "Mad About You". This is one of the biggest hits they made when Geike was the lead singer of the group. Now they released their first new album with Geike back.

'Hidden Stories' is a pefect mix of songs that all are typical Hooverphonic. One of the songs on the album is a tribute to Ennio Morricone who is the hero of Alex Callier. The Italian composer was already used as inspiration for the group's album 'Jackie Cane. This is the eleventh album of the group and was made in only three months. They were already working on a new album last year which was also supposed to release in 2020, but with everything that happened, they waited and wrote new songs that made it on this new album.

Hooverphonic was supposed to be on the starge of the Eurovision Song Contest last year, but it was cancelled due to the pandemic. This year it will happen, pandemic or not. It will be in Rotterdam, just like it should be last year. But this time it will be with Geike as the lead singer and not Luka. Hooverphonic is performing "The Wrong Place" during the first semi-finals on May 18, and if they make it to the finals, they will perform the song again on May 22. We will have to see how they will do it in two weeks.
